The national minimum wage report can help identify employees whose earnings fall below the government's minimum wage. For the report to provide accurate information, certain pay element options need to be enabled. To do this, follow the sections below.

Pay element options

Pay elements that are to be considered as part of the employee's minimum wage require the Use for NMW Check checkbox. To do this, follow the steps below.

Single employee

  1. Click Payroll, and then click Employees.

  2. Find and select the required employee.

  3. Click Standard Pay.

  4. Find and select the required pay element.

  5. Click Open Pay Element, select the checkbox Use for NMW Check.

  6. Click Save and Close.

  7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 for each pay element required.

All employees with the pay element

  1. Click Payroll, and then click Pay Elements.

  2. Find and select the required pay element.

  3. Click Open Pay Element, select the checkbox Use for NMW Check.

  4. Click Save and Close.

  5. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for each pay element required.

To apply the pay element changes to employees, you will need to run update standard pay elements for each pay element that received a change.

Contract details

The NMW report also requires the employees' contract details to be correct in order to calculate their hourly rate correctly. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Payroll, and then click Employees.

  2. Find and select the required employee.

  3. Click Open Employee, and then click the Contract Details tab.

  4. Ensure all the contracted days, weeks and hours are entered correctly.

  5. Click Save and Close.

The NMW exceptions report can only be found on the reports screen after a save and process has taken place. To view the report, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Payroll, then click Run Payroll.

  2. Click Save & Process.

  3. Select the NMW Exception checkbox, and click the Preview icon.

πŸ“ŒNote: If the error, There are no employees for the NMW Exception report, appears, there are no employees on less than the national minimum wage.

  4. If the report generates a list of employees, review the employees to ensure they are being paid correctly.
