Apply an unlock key

Applying an unlock key to a SelectPay databases.

When you upgrade your database to the latest version of SelectPay, or you restore a backup, you need to apply an unlock key to the database.

Get the unlock key

To get your unlock key, simply go to our unlock area then save the key to your PC. We recommend saving it to My Documents\Access UK Ltd\Payroll Administration.


Apply the unlock key

Once you've got your unlock key, to apply it to your database, watch the video or follow the steps below.

  1. From the Windows Start menu, open SelectPay Administrator.

  2. Click the Database tab then click Unlock Keys.

  3. Click New Unlock Key then browse to and double-click the key.

  4. Click the Database tab then click Databases.

  5. Select the relevant database then click Unlock.

  6. Click Assign To Database then double-click the relevant unlock key.

  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all databases that require the new unlock key.
