How to install SelectPay.

To install the latest version of SelectPay, follow the steps below.

Before you install

To help your installation run smoothly, we recommend you follow these preparation steps.

  • Check that you meet the system requirements.

  • If you have existing databases, take a backup.

  • Ensure all users are logged out of SelectPay.

  • If you use Access Office Integration, you will need version 5.22.2 or higher.

Install SelectPay

  1. Download the latest version.

  2. Using an administrator account, log in to the server that will host SelectPay.

  3. Copy the SelectPay.zip file onto the server.

  4. Right-click the zip file, and click Extract All.

  5. Double-click to open the extracted file, and double-click the Install folder.

  6. Right-click SelectPayBootstrapper.exe, and click Run as Administrator.

  7. Click Install SelectPay, then click Next.

  8. If a previous version appears, to remove it, select the check box.

  9. Click Next, if required, to change the installation location, and click Browse.

  10. Select the relevant installation type and the required features.

  11. Click Next.

    • On step 10, if you selected Client Only, click Install, then Exit.

    • If you selected Custom, move on to the next section.


Custom install

If you chose custom install, some of the steps below may appear depending on which features you have selected.

SQL Server Details

Enter your SQL server details.

Select if you wish to use Windows or SQL authentication.

  • Windows:- Ensure you use a Windows account that has administrator permissions to all servers and applications.

  • SQL:- Use the SA account, or an account with similar permissions.

SelectPay Service Details

  • Enter the desired port number for the SelectPay service, ensuring it does not overlap with a previous version.

  • If you select Use a Windows Domain Account, you need a Windows User Account created specifically to run the Payroll Service.

SelectPay Web Service Details

  • Enter the Website, Virtual Directory and Application Pool details.

  • If you've renamed the Virtual Directory, you will ned to update your HR configuration.

  • Once you've completed all the steps required, click Install.


Upgrade your database

To use the new version with your existing databases, you will need to upgrade them using the SelectPay Administrator.
