The net-to-gross wizard allows you to increase or decrease an employee's take-home pay by a specific amount without having to account for their tax or NI calculations. To do this, follow the steps below.

Things to consider before proceeding:

  • If you complete the wizard with the checkbox, Use an existing pay element selected, it is not possible to reverse the value; you must restore.

  • When the checkbox, Use an existing pay element is selected, if the employee already has the pay element chosen assigned with a rate greater than 0, the wizard will not apply any changes.

  • If a pay element is selected for Net to Gross, it can't be used in the Net to Gross wizard.

  1. Take a backup before making changes.

  2. Click Utilities, and then click Net to Gross.

  3. Enter any search criteria required, then click Next.

  4. Select a checkbox to show which pay element the adjustment will appear under.

    • Gross Adjustment - System Pay Element:- Skip to step 8.

    • Use an existing Pay Element.

  5. If using an existing pay element, click the magnifying glass icon.

  6. Double-click the desired pay element.

  7. If required, select the checkbox, Add this pay element if it doesn't already exist.

πŸ€“Tip: This will apply the pay element to an employee's standard pay if they do not already have the pay element assigned.

  8. If only required in the current period, select the checkbox, Current Period only.

  9. Select the type of gross adjustment.

    • Required net:- Pay a specific amount of net pay.

    • Additional net:- Pay an additional net amount.

  10. If using additional net, enter the required figure.

  11. Click Next.

  12. If using required net, enter the desired figure in the required net column.

  13. Click Calculate, then click Update.

  14. Click Finish.
