Create an occupational sick pay rule

Create a rule for Occupational Sick Pay (OSP)

If you offer additional pay for employees who are off sick, you can create rules to fit with your policies. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Click System, and then click Occupational.

  2. Click Sick Pay, and then click New OSP.

  3. Enter a unique Code and Name for the rule.

  4. Select the rule base checkbox required.

    • Rolling:- You can enter any number between 1 and 36.

    • Start date:- Set the beginning date for your sick pay year.

  5. Select the length of service rule period.

    • Years

    • Months

    • Weeks

  6. Click the over field on line one.

  7. Enter the number of periods you must be employed for before the rule can apply.

  8. Click the first x days field.

    • Enter the number of days to be paid.

  9. Click the % field.

    • Enter the percentage to pay for the number of days entered.

  10. Click the next x days field.

    • Enter the number of days to be paid.

  11. Click the % field.

    • Enter the percentage to pay for the number of days entered.

    πŸ€“Tip: You can create as many lines in the rule as you require.

  12. Repeat steps 8 to 11 for each line required.

  13. For each line, if required, select the checkbox.

    • Exclude first 3 days for unlinked sickness:- Excludes the first 3 days of a new sickness from the OSP calculation.
