The attempt to divide by zero error is caused by a zero appearing in a calculation when it is not expected. The most common cause for this error is related to sickness calculations. To narrow down to cause, follow the steps below.

Find the employee

  1. Click Payroll, and then click Run Payroll.

  2. Click the status column filter, and click S.

  3. Select the employee at the top of the list.

  4. Use the arrow key on your keyboard to go down the list.

If the error appears when selecting an employee, make a note of their employee code.

Things to check

SSP Qualifying days

  1. Click Payroll, and then click Employees.

  2. Find and select the required employee.

  3. Click Open Employee, and then click the SSP Entitlement tab.

  4. If no days are selected, select the required checkboxes.

  5. Click Save and Close.

Working pattern

  1. Click Payroll, and then click Employees.

  2. Find and select the required employee.

  3. Click Open Employee, and then click the Contract Details tab.

  4. Ensure there is a value greater than 0 entered into the contracted fields.

If you have completed the steps above and have been unable to identify an employee or have confirmed the qualifying days and working pattern are not the cause, raise a case confirming the employee code and steps carried out.
