Security profile functionality

Some users can't see reports, employees, pay frequencies, departments.

SelectPay allows you to create a security profile, in which you can create a permissions list that will limit the abilities of any user assigned to the profile. To create a security profile, follow the relevant steps below.

Considerations

  • To create or edit a security profile, you must be using a payroll administrator user.

  • If one or more pay frequencies have been restricted, the user will be unable to generate the nominal journal.


Create a security profile

  1. Click System, and then click Security Profile.

  2. Click New Profile.

  3. Enter a relevant code, maximum of 10 characters.

  4. Enter a name for the security profile.

  5. Select or deselect the required check boxes on each tab.

  6. Click Save and Close.


Assign a security profile

Once you have created a security profile, you can now assign it to a user. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Click System, and then click User Records.

  2. Find and select the required user.

  3. Click Open User, and then click the magnifying glass icon.

  4. Double-click the required security profile.

  5. Click Save and Close.
