Employer pay bill

How the employer pay bill is calculated.

The employer pay bill is all payments to employees that are subject to employer secondary class 1 NICs; this includes employees earning less than the Lower Earnings Limit (LEL) or Secondary Threshold (ST) and employees with NI letters M and H. To view a breakdown of the figure, follow the sections below.

Employer pay bill year to date

To view your employer pay bill year to date figure, follow the steps below.

  1. Click on System, and then click on Company Details.

  2. Click on the Apprentice Levy tab.

  3. Review the current employer pay bill value.


Employer pay bill breakdown

Two standard reports in SelectPay provide a further breakdown of the pay bill figure. To view these, follow the steps below.

  1. Click Payroll, and then click Reports.

  2. Click Payroll Reports.

  3. Click the + icon to expand Analysis, and then General.

  • Apprentice Levy Audit:- Shows the employer pay bill by period in the tax year.

  • Apprentice Levy Audit Detail:- Shows the employer pay bill per employee per period in the tax year.
